Thomas J. Hughes

Tom has more than 30 years of experience helping business owners, professionals and self-employed individuals make sound financial decisions in the areas of business finance, retirement planning, investing, estate conservation and business continuation.

Before founding Southwest Business Advisors, he worked for three insurance companies, a major brokerage firm and in the banking industry.  Tom has turned his focus to teaching the small to medium sized business owner how to achieve the same benefits afforded large corporations.  He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a bachelor of science degree (with honors) and holds the designations of Chartered Life Underwriter and Registered Investment Advisor.

Tom is well regarded in the financial industry and has been a speaker for such prestigious groups as TransAmerica Insurance Company, First National Bank of Columbia, Missouri, the Swedish Film Makers Association and the National Association of Health Care Credit Unions.  He takes a creative, straight forward approach to solving complex business and personal financial issues.  His clients describe him as "trustworthy and competent to guide" them through the many financial aspects of running their business.  With Southwest Business Advisors, and the many experts they have teamed with, clients are able to make their businesses more efficient and profitable.
